Brief Biography

Tânia Morais has a degree in Chemistry (2007) by Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa (FCUL), where she also completed a master's degree in Chemistry with specialization in Chemistry, Health and Nutrition (2008). Tânia Morais got her PhD in Chemistry with specialization in Inorganic Chemistry (2013) by University of Lisbon. She was honored by the Portuguese Chemical Society in 2014 with the prize “Portuguese Young Chemist Award”. She is currently a researcher under the Estímulo ao Emprego Científico - Individual 2017 program, in Centro de Química Estrutural of Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa. She is co-founder of a FCUL spin-off company named “HATIcancer” and she is co-author of several 1 national and 3 international patents. Tânia Morais research focuses on the development of chemical synthesis and characterization of organic, inorganic and organometallic compounds for cancer therapy and evaluation of properties of potential drugs and their interaction with biomolecules. Has a total of 23 articles published in international journals with peer review, 3 book chapters.

She works at          group of Centro de Química Estrutural at Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade de Lisboa.
